I've seen all three Oceans movies. The first two didn't cost me anything but time, as they were broadcast on Tv to promote their sequels. The first wasn't too bad, but the second one I can't say I liked. Either Julia Roberts had to much input in that one, and jinx'd it (as she seems to do a lot). Or just the move from Vegas to Europe, was poison to the premise. Like, who cares if they rob some place over there? Now, #13 puts them back in Vegas. And and even more elaborate heist, taking place in only a few minutes time. Not as good as the first movie. But much better than the second. And worthy a watch, I believe, in spite of the lip thing.

A few weeks before the Ocean's 13 dvd came out, syndicated latenite Tv aired a 2000 Brad Pitt movie called "Snatch". Which was much harder to follow, than George Clooney's mumbling. Because of Jason Statham's hard accent. I had to keep the caption on all the time. And while it was meant to be amusing, it was more often excessively violent. And ironically, the movie's bad guys were their own worst enemy. As all but two of them wind up dead, as a result of their ways. And we have no sympathy for them, after having to endure their criminal lifestyle. Not a pretty movie, that I would recommend sitting thru, just to see the clever twist at the end, that we see coming for 15 minutes. And Brad Pitt plays a gypsy, who we can understand a word he says. Don't see "Snatch", ever!

Someday the pouty lip thing will be out of style in Hollywood, and Mr. Pitt will just have to pick up another trade.

Like haberdashery!

LOLOL--Im so glad I discovered thsi blog (found the link at myspace).

You are completely right about Brad Pitt's lower lip. My brother and I notioced a similar phenomenon in Ocean's 11. There was a tremendous amount fo posing in that film.

I must admit I have not viewed 13 because I didn't enjoy 11 enough to move up the integer scale.

Thanks for the laugh,
Iris

Hello bandwagon, let me hop on.

Ocean's 12 was AWFUL. The Julia Robert's thing, in addition to being ridiculously bad and contrived, almost made my head explode. Because using that logic, why wasn't the whole movie just them portraying their own "look-alikes" ie: playing themselves. I think I popped a blood vessel stewing over that one.

I didn't see Ocean's 13. Sorry Clooney, you'll have to use someone else's ticket money to pay for the solid gold skimmer for your indoor pool at your Italian villa.

The notorious "Julia Roberts Scene" in Ocean's 12 is perhaps the most poorly conceived piece of writing in the history of modern Hollywood cinema... the fact that ANOTHER Ocean's sequel even exists has me nervously looking for a padlock and the closest railing.

It seems to fit right in with George "The Human Bobble-Head" Clooney. Like the needles of a seismometer, George Clooney's head can act as a surprisingly accurate gauge of movement in the Earth's tectonic plates.

George Clooney...actor, director, liberal activist...and walking Richter scale.

Hey, it could be worse.

You could have been watching Ocean's 12.

//hasn't seen 13 yet, but figures it can't be much of a step-down from 12.
