Corbett here.
Great to be with you on this, the first “weblog” — or, as I’ve come to call it, “blog” (you like that? it just came to me) EVER.
I suspect more people will be doing this newfangled “blog” thing years from now. But right now we’re out here by ourselves, in the wilderness. Ah, breathe that fresh internet air!
More soon. But in the meantime, a few quick words:
cod
elbow
tungsten
gerrymander
rake
Thank you, and enjoy your day.

BILL!
So glad to see you’re posting here. You’re my very favorite person I’ve not actually friends with who is named Bill, especially now that you’ve added “tungsten” to my day. Hope the new baby is well
It’s Bill, everybody!

“I’ve” = “I’m”. Sorry. Proofreading is good, even here in the brand-new blogging world.

I don’t know. I might have to challenge ‘gerrymander’ as a quick word.

Gerrymander basically means “to divide”

“I might have to challenge ‘gerrymander’ as a quick word.”
Fair enough. Let me offer you this alternative, PMH:
mulch.

tablecloth
dorsal
casket
medicine ball
Yeah, I know that last one is TECHNICALLY two, but when you put them together you get a really great word. Am I wrong?

You are correct. Indisputably.

I heartily accept ‘mulch.’ Now there’s a phrase I never expected to use.

My word for the day is “bronchitis”. I don’t have bronchitis, but I just think it’s a very pleasant, happy word that slides off the tongue and brings smiles to those who hear it.
I could be wrong, I guess.

bronchitis
Rotten experience, but good word, yes.
And a fine name for an emo band.

Oops. I over-italicized.
Always a danger.

Several of my friends and I feel the same way about “chlamydia”.

I accept your words, Sir Corbett, and offer you these in turn.
hamstring
kinkajou
flotsam
shuttlecock
Use them well and in moderation.
Hope the new baby’s doing well, congratulations!

Them’s good words. (That last one could get a fellow in trouble, though.)

Thanks Courtney. He’s a fun, happy little guy. Cliche though it is, we are blessed.

Personally, I would love to see this be the start of an official Rifftrax Word-Naming contest.
Reply from Courtney on December 11, 2007:
Thanks Bill, and I do apologize for uttering the word “shuttlecock” in a thread where I’ve also mentioned your infant son. I just think badmitten is a fine sport. Needs love too.

“I just think badmitten is a fine sport.”
That it is. And it also keeps Badfinger warm and toasty during those chilly winter months.

Ohh Steve-O, where’s our little bah-dum-chh smiley when you need it!

All these people saying words; it’s like that one Python sketch. I can almost hear the caribou nibbling the croquet hoops.
That said:
dross
flophouse
pancake
logjam
That is all.

I’ll give you patsy, runt, chinchilla and nosegay, but I’m going to hang on to unctuous, for insurance purposes.
