A severe monkey wrench has been thrown into the inaugural American Day Camp/Confidential Postman Award (one for actors, one for writers/directors). To be accurate, three tiny, chipmunk sized monkey wrenches. Yes, the people at 20th Century Fox, in a transparent case of Razzie baiting, have rushed Alvin & The Chipmunks out just in time for the holidays, and in plenty of time to top year end “Worst Of” lists. Though I haven’t seen the movie, everything adds up for “AATC” to potentially dethrone “Daddy Day Camp” as the worst film of the year:
-More prominent release date than Daddy Day Camp
-”Record Scratch” sound in trailer
-Chart topping pop hit from three years ago sung by character in trailer
-”Fart Gag” in trailer
-”Feces Eating Gag” in trailer (this came as a surprise, actually)
-Alvin voiced by star of Crossroads, “The Mac Guy” (also a surprise, but makes sense in retrospect)
Unless “Live Free or Die Hard” pulls out an unlikely Best Picture upset, we may have to wait another year for an actor to appear in the best and worst movies of the year. Trailers after the jump:

That reminds me of the “feces-eating” scene from The Remains of the Day, which was thankfully left on the cutting room floor.
I guess the director thought the scene wasn’t right for Sir Anthony Hopkins’ character.

Now that’s solid family entertainment!

Must have been. Otherwise, it would have been a feces-drinking scene.
