Things I am thankful for in my life: my family, my friends, my health, the fact that the framed picture on the first cover blocks our view of Mr. Rickles’s spandex-covered junk. Goodnight, everyone.
This looks like the mischievousness of Mr. Mxyzptlk. Hey wait a sec! I think Don Rickles IS Mxyzptlk! The eyes, the grin, the bald! It all makes sense now!
He wasn’t really a hero. More of an antihero. My recollection is that the evil new manager of the Daily Planet used him as bait to launch Clark Kent into space.
Last night I watched X: The Man With The X-Ray Eyes. Don Rickles was one of the co-stars. Cast way against type, he plays a shifty carnival promoter who insults people a lot. What range! Fun little Roger Corman movie by the way, it would make a great Rifftrax.
At least after you read those comics you will be able to enjoy seeing Rickles die a horrible burning vampire death.
I wish I could imbed this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-YBGRT5WJ0
Last time I promise, then I shoot myself. If I actually succeed in hitting anything, I will blog about it tomorrow. youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-YBGRT5WJ0
And people complain today that Comic Books have crappy plots. Apparently these people never heard of the “Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen” and “Superman’s Girlfriend, Lois Lane!” series of comics.
I’m not sure i want “landmines in my lunchbox” or “defoliants in my succotash”
And I’m not a writer (obviously) but who creates a character, any character named “Goody” ?
Not only was Don Rickles in DC comics… not only was he in JACK MOTHERF–KING KIRBY’S DC comics, but he was in the series that introduced Darkseid, perhaps the greatest villain in comics, nearly Shakespearian in his awesomeness.

That was a Super-Shecky Greene issue.

Also, who is Kirby to tell me what to buy? Screw you, Kirby!

I am going to assume you have no idea who Kirby was, because that is the only reasonable explanation for saying such a thing.
Reply from ShutterBun on January 8, 2008:
Well, he created the Silver Surfer, so, yeah, “screw you, Kirby!”
Reply from DestyNova on January 8, 2008:
Honestly. Screw Kirby, and his icky Grape Forest.
Reply from Ninjew on January 9, 2008:
Yeah! Screw Kirby! And his stupid vacuum cleaner too!

I bought those issues because of the awfulness of their covers. And although Stan Lee maybe “the man”, Jack Kirby will always be “the King”.

His comic was cancelled because he broke too many fingers and didn’t have a healing power. Poor guy. 15 years of medical school down the toilet.
