The real truth is that while walking along a seldom used path, Old Willie Flats a prospector happend upon this plant. He nearly stepped on it when his partner James Barthews spit his snuff out right down there on it. Seeing this Old Willie imediatly said " Well what in tha world, yuck." So to this very day it has been called the yucca plant.
