The poor guy has cancer, though thankfully it’s not as dire as the tabloids reported it.
In any case, here’s hoping that he has the Swayze-ist recovery possible.
For the most part, I grow pretty fond of people in movies we riff.* And by all accounts P.S. is a good bloke.
Wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone, of course. But especially since he’s given us such fodder over the years, I say — speedy recovery, pal. We here at Rifftrax wish you all the best.
(*Except for that horrible little bastard Elijah Wood. Do NOT get me started on him!!)

“If somebody gets in your face and calls you a cocksucker, I want you to be nice. Ask him to walk. Be nice. If he won’t walk, walk him. But be nice.”
*sigh* Get well soon, Swayz. You’ll always be my Johnny Castle.

There is a long thread about this in the Rifftrax forum.
http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php/topic,7901.0.html
I’m on board that there should be a St. Patrick Swayze day celebration on Rifftrax and another Swayze film should be riffed.

I like that idea.
I also like how folks on the forum are changing their avatars to Swayze avatars…or as I like to call them Swayz-atars.
Very cool.

Yes, we wish Dalton the best of luck.
Wow Bill, I know have a new fond respect for riffers…
Riffers…they poke fun at actors and are quick to find faults…but actually do have a soul.
Bless you Bill Corbett.

Thank you, gammer. Nice of you to say.
Can’t speak for Mike and Kevin but alas, in my case, this isn’t true…
“but actually do have a soul.”
I traded it for a Zagnut bar a while back. Dumb move, I know.
Reply from Tim on March 6, 2008:
Bill, I’ll let you know if I happen to come across your soul in one of those check-out aisle bargain bins on one of my frequent trips to Dennis’ Soul Emporium.
Reply from Bill Corbett on March 6, 2008:
Much obliged.

I traded mine for a box of Turkish Delights, given to me by a hot, evil Queen who ruled a place called Narny…or Narnia…or something or other.
Good box of Turkish Delights though!

I think he contracted it way back when he danced too close to Chris Farley’s back, side, and front fat.
Seriously, get well, Nomad, and we’ll all have a Patrick Swayze Christmas this year!

The announcement coming so closely on the heels of Jeff Healey’s death made me think there was some sort of Road House curse going around. Here’s hoping that Patrick Swayze has a speedy recovery.

Bill I’m sorry, but I have to get you started. I gasped out loud when you mentioned Elijah Wood! What on Earth could you have against such a sweet, bug-eyed little guy?

Perhaps it is Elijah Wood’s oft-heard saying, “Pain DO hurt. It hurt a LOT.”
Reply from Tim D on March 6, 2008:
Actual Elijah Wood quote: “If I wasn’t an actor, I’d be a secret agent.” For the love of God, man…

Livia, that’s just what they WANT you to think Elijah Wood is.
In reality he’s a 6-foot-7, 450 lb. brute. He’s a bully, a check kiter, a thief, and…. frankly… a murderer. And he spit on Tolkien’s grave once.

Patrick is still in a lot of trouble. Pancreatic cancer is the fastest moving and most dangerous form of the disease. Michael Landon had that and was gone in a matter of months so I hope the link Bill posted is accurate and not just a press release from Swayze’s agent.

Best to Mr. Swayze and his family. My fondest hopes for a speedy recovery.
Do the impish, the elvish, and the bug-eyed age well? What kinds of roles can a mature Elijah Wood hope to get?

We’ve all had our fun with Mr.Swayze over the years but he really seems like a good guy. Pancreatic cancer is a terrible thing.
I hope everything works out for him and he’s back tearing people’s throats out soon!

You know, I never noticed this before, but I think Patrick Swayze kind of looks like Michael Palin with a jaw implant.
Now that that’s out of the way, my best wishes to the Swayz’ and his family. This is a hard time for them, and I wish them nothing but the best.

I truly speak from experience when I say Cancer no matter how little or big a problem it may appear is a very scary thing. I am a survivor but it doesn’t truly go away. For the rest of my life I must go and have scans, have my blood tested, test test test test!!!!!!! If you read some of my previous post you might think me a nut. Actually this is my outlet from my real world wich honestly sucks. I really do appreciate ppl like our wonderful riffers who have this blog open for us to enjoy and be part of. As for P.S. I can only say he has been and will always be a great actor in my eye’s. Not really sure if he himself will ever read these words but just in case I’ll say this: ” Life is short live each day to the fullest cancer or not make your life worth something not for others not for fame nor for the richies of this earth, no make your life worth something for you and the one who created you ”
Well now that said I think it is safe to say those words can be for all of us.
Viva La Swayze!!!!
Viva La Rolf!!!!!
Viva La Mike!!!
Viva La Kevin!!!
Viva La Bill!!!
Viva La Rifftrax / MST3k!!!!
Viva La Fans Like You!!!!
