Back to Basics

March 11th, 2008 by Mike Nelson · 29 Comments

Look, what with the thickets of ear hair, and the heart stopping news on the bacon front, I suspect that even the calming influence of Joey P. may not be enough to soothe our roiled readers.

So let’s just get back to what brought us here, to what we do best: i.e., providing you links to stories about horrifying gnome-like creatures terrorizing some South American teens (complete with video!)

Warning: Video contains actual horrifying gnome.

s garden gnome

Horrifying gnome’s cousin, Rondell “Butch” Gnome, had no comment.

I almost forgot about the REAL reason we were all here! Thank you, Mike for bringing us all home!

I always thought the Travelocity “Roaming Gnome” was a tad unnerving, but man, he is just plain CREEPY when he gets drunk.

Come to think of it, even if it is just a midget out for a midnight, um, ‘hobble’, that still doesn’t explain the dunce cap. What the heck?!

That’s shocking video! It made me fall over my chair backwards and I landed in the cloakroom.

Well if a shady, hard to see video from S.A. it reported to us by a reputable source, like “The Sun”, then it has to be true!

Actually, the gnome kind of looks like that little leprechaun character from the Simpsons.

Wow… Warwick Davis really has fallen on hard times, hasn’t he? No amount of being “in da hood” can rescue him.

Warwick Davis is like three times the heat of this mystery gnome.

Reply from GregMcduck on March 11, 2008:

    Three times the hight, too.

I love the last quote: “One of my friends was so scared after seeing that thing that we had to take him to the hospital.”
I look forward to next week after a future sighting will SCARE SOMEONE TO DEATH!

Hey, wait a minute! That’s just like the alien scene in the M. Night Shamalamadingdong masterpiece “Signs!” And if I don’t miss my guess, not only was the alien creature in South America, but it was also captured on some home video stuff just like here!
Could this mean Mr. Shamalamadingdong might be a prophet of our time? Everyone had better keep an eye out on their pools, in case a weird lady pops put! Also, be on the look out for Mel Gibson living with a messed up family with crop circles in their backyard!

Reply from Dan Jam on March 12, 2008:

Yes it is, and what’s even more scary is my memory is so good for all those movies, and I still can’t get that guy’s name right!
    Go figure!

Be still my beating heart. You should be ashamed of yourself, Michael J. Nelson. As if we don’t have enough terrorizing us–what with the Amy Winehouses and Willard Scotts out there. This was just upsetting. Anytime you see a little person sidestepping like a hermit crab, followed by an ear-piercing scream, you know you are experiencing horror in its purest form. I am so not getting any sleep tonight.

Wow. That was just insanely creepy. I think I’d die if I was outside in the middle of the night and saw that.

For the record, I always did think that providing us links to stories about horrifying gnome-like creatures terrorizing some South American teens (complete with video) was what you guys did best.

This page has been my #1 source for stories about horrifying gnome-like creatures terrorizing some South American teens (complete with video) for as far back as I can remember.

I have consulted neurologists about my rapidly deteriorating memory, but they are puzzled at best. (Some were also angry, even resentful about it. One said he was thirsty, but I think it was a coincidence.)

Was the “Time Warp” playing in anyone else’s head when they watched that or was it just me?
