Not the worst Rolling Stone cover you will see all day!

RS dern
“Get me Sharon Stone! Well then, Julia Roberts! Well then, Cindy Crawford! Kathy Ireland! Elle MacPhereson! Madonna! Tiffany! Debbie Gibson! Vanna White! Lori Loughlin! Candace Cameron! (Hours pass) OK, we’ll take her, but you’re fired!”

RS Bears
The man so Rock & Roll they had to dub him in later to the Super Bowl Shuffle video

RS Kris
The cover story that would become “Elizabethtown”

RS indy
“This Rolling Stone cover is great! This movie’s gonna be huge!” *Ring Ring* “Hello? Who died? One of the world’s most popular whats? Immeasurable cultural impact on who? Eh, slip it in somwhere in retraction sized font.”

And finally:

RS jarjar
While you’re choking on that, be sure to note the article “Columbine: Whose fault is it? By Marilyn Manson”

Nope, not the WORST Rolling Stone cover you’ll see all day. That honor belongs to this:

GAAAA!!! ShutterBun, you bastard! That link had no other visuals so my eyes were forced to look in the general direction of that *shudder* image!

And then my back button on my browser was slow. I thought about gouging out my eyes or using a woodburing kit, but then I realized it would be the last image I would ever see.

    Yes. Very well done.

I don’t know I kinda like the one Tv Miller posted there… yea I know I’m twisted but then again I also like the one above with Laura Durn on the cover. What she’s hot, well she was hot then, don’t know about now but then wowowowowowoowowowowowowow, wow.

    Thanks,

I’ll take a Laura Dern anyday because if a JPark story was required, thank god it wasn’t a sprawled out Sam Neil being held by a nude Goldblum ala John/Yoko.

The filthy images that entered into my head when I saw the pants-less Backstreet Boys with the caption “Boys On Top”… o_O

Who decided that would be a good concept?

The Jar Jar cover is a masterpiece in comparison.

What’s wrong with Laura Dern? Before the rifftrax came out the only reason why I owned Jurrasic Park was because of Dern running around in those short shorts of her.

FINALLY! Rolling Stone were the only ones journalistically savvy enough to link Jar Jar Binx to Columbine.

is that really how disconnected RS is? Indiana Jones top billed over Bob Marley’s death? yeah, some of these made me feel ill (particularly #1) some of them were “well theres nothing better going on and we gotta have this out tomorrow so yah we’ll just throw Rita Coolidge and Kris Kristofferson on the cover” but seriously? Bob Marley…

I seem to remember that the week Freddie Mercury died he only earned a sidebar in Rolling Stone. The cover story was Michael Jackson’s new album. My friends and I were pissed. This was before Waynes World made Bohemian Rhapsody and Queen popular again, of course.

I have to ask… Girl with shirt off is bad? I have questioned many coworkers and among all the guys of a singular orientation and many of the guys with multiple… there is no* bad topless girl. In addition those females who remove bits of clothes should be complimented frequently. (*barring only the morbidly obese as an after thought)

There was also a horrible one that featured Destiny’s Child with a half caption mentioning the passing of Joey Ramone.

Or this one… I’ve been upset about this ever since. Though I think Rollingstone lost credibility way before this, I never really bought the Magazine ever again. Except when they put out the Hunter S. Thompson tribute issue.

I dunno, Mik. I think Joey might have appreciated a trio of scantily clad babes taking precedence over his death.

Personally, I find this one amusing:

It looks like the photographer just shouted, “Hey! Rich! Look over here!” and shot his reaction.

I don’t really mind Laura Dern, I think she’s hot. Plus I suppose it was topical with Jurassic Park and all. The Backstreet Boys one really made me ill though. Just thinking about the fact that they won the Readers Poll. Hmmm… Yeah overall these covers are a good example of the reasons why I don’t read Rolling Stone.

I feel bad for Tom Waits. Why does one of the greatest musicians get stuck with Jar Jar Binks?
