I finally made a LOLCAT!

April 28th, 2008 by Bill Corbett · 23 Comments

It’s a big day for me. Feels like I’ve finally caught up to our popular culture, after a long, difficult run. Whew!

So is this the general idea?

LOLcat

I’ll be outside working on my Edsel and drinking a TAB, if anyone has notes.

23 skidoo,

Indeed, that is the idea — if you have, in fact, submitted said feline, please link us and we will vote for its inclusion in the annals of lolcat history.

Bill, it scares me that you have come upon a site I’ve been at regularly for half a year now. An odd meeting of the dimensions - a riffer and lolcats. Heehee.
Cats are cute. It simply is an indisputable fact. ‘I can has cheezburger’ tends to make me squeal at the adorability.

[…] Now, there are a lot of dumb cats out there, but the future President Happycat is doing a lot to break down the old stereotypes of LOLcats as ignorant, with a little help from former MST3K writer and Rifftrax personality Bill […]

Good for you, Mr. C! My cats do NOT speak pigdin (sp)! At least I don’t think they do. I do love the LOLcats site, though. It’s a daily chuckle for me, and many of them are in the photo file for my screensaver slideshow.

…and furthermore: love the “23 skidoo” reference. I routinely sing the “Boolah boolah” song, substituting one of my cat’s two-syllable names for “boolah”. I’m sure she thinks I’m certifiable (I know my husband does).

See, if I was one of those cat people, here’s where I would post my own LOLcat looking at your LOLcat on the computer screen and “saying” something funny, but the closest I ever come to cat people is the theme song by David Bowie.

We have many cats (6!), and we love them dearly but none of them can speak or spell, Bill.

Their dignity lies in the fact that they don’t give a rat’s patoot about anything but eating and sleeping. They are the true masters of reality.

Everything copacetic? I must hop the next auto-gyro to Ceylon to purchase a cure for my consumption.

Forget the Robot revolution, it is the cats we have got to watch out for if they get this smart. All they would need is to have several of their comrads sneeking into the Pentagon and we can kiss humanity goodbye.
