So, as part of our ever growing mission to expand the empire of RiffTrax into every facet of the media (after successfully getting the air conditioning and bathrooms working again in our offices after thieves stole the critical parts over the weekend) we’ve decided to partner up with the CBS RADIO Digital Network! Yes, soon those radio-stations-with-real-person-names listeners among you will soon be subject to a barrage of RiffTrax content over the radio waves!*
To kick off this monumental pairing of corporate behemoth with fledgling media company that has an eye for a logo, Mike has decided to take questions on the air regarding…well anything. But let’s be honest: we tread a fairly narrow margin here on the RiffTrax Blog. So if we could keep all questions focused purely in the realm of the big three topics (I think you all know what they are), we’ll be doing just fine. And we’ll get to hear some crazy questions asked out loud for the first time ever. So submit away in the comments, they’ll be pulling them directly from here and we’ll keep you apprised of when it’s going to air.

What are one or two of the most obscure references made that you can think of, and what is the explanation?

When someone makes a bad pun, there is usually a threat or follow through of being hit. Would that be considered PUNishment?

Could you elaborate on this? What does this mean, exactly? I’m not clear on whether you’ll be providing on-air content of some kind for them, or whether you’ll just be conducting interviews about Rifftrax, or something similar.

Not exactly sure what’s going on, but today I was told I’m being replaced by Charlie Sheen.

I’d rather you were being replaced by Denise Richards, but I’ll take what I can get.

Does that mean that every time you go somewhere you must be preceded by Wild Thing?

The three big topics being bacon, hats, and Joey Pants, I presume?

I have no idea what the ACTUAL big three are, but figured it would be fun to argue about.
I think that what is going down with CBS is going to be the inclusion of material in between the songs on the radio. If you listen to their player at the link, they have a visual element to it that will allow some video content to be embedded, as well as audio. I’m sure further lowdowns are to follow.

Yeah, Conner is really confusing the heck out of me.
I checked my calander, and it isn’t April 1st, so there must be truth to this…
A better explanation would help prevent us from ripping our hair out.
(sorry Bill)

Has there been any instances where a joke would crack someone up royally and production would have to cease? What jokes specifically? And who’s the most likely to ruin takes with laughter?
or maybe a better question….
How many different kinds of fish can you name?

Does this mean that the Rifftrax cast and crew will be appearing in a new drama as a group of forensic humorists? Will the first episode involve the gruesome murder/suicide of Ernest Scribbler and his mother?

I thought the big three topics were black tar heroin, undercooked pork products and “Can you guess from the smell of my gas what I had to eat today?”.
Can I be the annoying convention Trekker/Trekkie who asks about someone that happened in the third segment of episode 305 during a commercial break when the ad for Tums came on?

Tempted to go with some pseudo-corporate suckup post (Mr. Nelson, over the years you’ve shifted paradigms and added a focused perspective to a newly-enlightened twenty-first century America, so what’s your favourite Peter Graves movie and why?) but I opted for a real one.
Now that you’re doing blockbuster movies and don’t have to worry about getting a watchable print with good sound, what do you think distinguishes a riffable movie like Over the Top from your run-of-the-mill crap like Firewall?

What’s your favorite era of MST3K? The Joel era, the Mike Comedy Central Era or the Sci Fi Channel era. And what stands out most in your mind about each era?
