Sit down, Schnappi!

May 29th, 2008 by Bill Corbett · 18 Comments

There’s a new German cartoon character in town… and he’s packing a catchy theme song, too!

The lyrics, as one might guess, are a diatribe against the Jews.

**Conor Adds**

conor and schnappi

Having kicked it with the Schnapster in Mexico over the weekend, I feel compelled to leap to his defense. The camera makes him look a good decade older than his cartoons, but the guy can party.

[BILL adds, parenthetically, re picture above: Conor, did you pluck out your eyes recently?]

Might I throw into the German kids show mixture Kaptn Blaubar? I’m quite fond of the fez-wearing kazoo guy at the beginning, evidently named Flöt:

Is that rabbit singing a love song to his carrot?

    That’s so gay.

He’s quoting the Protocols of the Lagomorphs of Zion.

Really, though, he’s almost (but not quite) as creepy as that CGI fox that sells online degrees.

So that was an advertisement for shoe lifts?

  • 4 RemmieBarrow on May 29, 2008 at 1:44 pm

Oh please.. Schnappi could eat that rabbit for dinner.

That’s my own business. I’m 3′7″ without ‘em.

There’s something John Candyish about the good Kaptn Blaubar which makes him okay in my book.

So, there’s this rabbit, and he’s singing a song to his pet carrot in a field. Then a magical heart appears, signifying their love, which is healthy and natural and in no way abnormal. OBVIOUSLY its an ad for shoe lifts!

As for Kaptn Blaubar, which I believe translates to “Forwards To Moscow”, I’m pretty clueless.

    Uncle Blaubar?

I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again many, many more times:

    Thank God we won WW2.

Yeah, can you imagine a world where German and Japanese popular culture dominated?

    Yikes.

What good, upstanding man doesn’t love his carrot?

  • 12 WildRebel on May 29, 2008 at 7:39 pm

errr….. is Conor flipping us the bird?

  • 13 RoninFox on May 29, 2008 at 11:44 pm

That bunny sure enjoys that carrot…in a rather unhealthy way. I mean I love a good steak but I don’t sing a song and kiss it before I shove it in my mouth.

Oh no! Children must be warned against the inherent evils of techno!

    The internet would suggest differently.

You know, these things make so much more sense when I am wasted on my Big Black Dick rum…

Dinner? Pssh! Schnappi could eat that sh*t for breakfast!

P.S.: is the familial catchphrase ‘Big White’ or ‘Good luck ham’? I fear this question shall ricochet between my dendrites for eternity…
