Beverly Sixth Sense

June 18th, 2008 by Conor Lastowka · 36 Comments

In honor of our upcoming Riff of The Sixth Sense, I made this video

This of course is the scene where the man discovers that his wife has poisoned their daughter to death. His reaction was so priceless, I wondered what else could be substituted on his TV. There was only one thing, as far as I was concerned….

Conor, listen really hard. Can you hear me clapping all the way in Chicago? Well then you’re not trying hard enough because I am. Well done!

    Creeping people out since 1999.

  • 4 MSTJedi on Jun 18, 2008 at 2:38 pm

Yeah, that’s the appropriate reaction to that trailer, alright.

  • 5 Finchstalker on Jun 18, 2008 at 3:31 pm

    I hurt myself laughing. :(

  • 6 Walter on Jun 18, 2008 at 3:32 pm

    That made my day.

Jesus Marie on toast… that was unbelievably funny. Just perfect. You win at life.

[...] The above video is some Sixth Sense-related mischief from yon Rifftrax Blog. [...]

This is precisely how I reacted the first time you people thrust that damn trailer upon me. Excellent video, hope it spawns a series of obscure YouTube meme remixes.

  • 10 ShutterBun on Jun 18, 2008 at 4:33 pm

I guess something like “I see dead puppies” isn’t going to catch on as a tagline, but that’s a damn funny video anyway!

  • 11 NotMerrittStone on Jun 18, 2008 at 4:47 pm

    Very well done.

(The trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie is different than I remember.)

  • 12 Matt on Jun 18, 2008 at 5:48 pm

    Outstanding sir. Outstanding.

  • 13 Onil on Jun 18, 2008 at 5:57 pm

Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back, Conor, because you deserve one.

  • 14 Gamera on Jun 18, 2008 at 6:02 pm

    Who’s the mother-flippin? Conor’s the mother-flippin.

  • 15 Rowsdower on Jun 18, 2008 at 6:13 pm

My coworkers think I’m insane because I just randomly burst into teary eyed laughter… Thanks Conor my day sucked until now

  • 16 Michaela on Jun 18, 2008 at 6:46 pm

That was remarkably similar to my own reaction upon seeing that same trailer in theaters. I just kept looking over at my boyfriend, mouth agape, eyes bugging, unsure if he was seeing the same thing I was.

  • 17 Libby on Jun 18, 2008 at 7:03 pm

    I salute you, sir.

  • 18 Hugh on Jun 18, 2008 at 8:41 pm

Without looking at who authored this post, I’d initially presumed that this was the work of Mr. Bill Corbett. I’m uncertain as to whether or not that’s a compliment, so take that as you will.

  • 19 Neb on Jun 18, 2008 at 10:31 pm

If that’s not an education in creative editing, I don’t know what is. That was also my reaction upon seeing that trailer (here). The horror.

  • 20 Botchinator on Jun 19, 2008 at 4:36 am

There is something wrong with you, i just can’t put a finger on it though. On the other hand, i lol’d

  • 21 Tim D on Jun 19, 2008 at 5:10 am

I actually found myself laughing at singing and dancing dogs. I don’t think I’ve done that since I was four. Thank you for bringing child-like wonder back into my life. I am complete now.

Or maybe it was just something funny and I liked it. That’s it, really.

  • 22 ms chii on Jun 19, 2008 at 6:06 am

holeeee crap. that was BAD!!!!! (the preview) but the mixing it with the six sense #s was absolutely brilliant.

    speechless! what is disney thinking?

  • 23 Jacob_Taylor on Jun 19, 2008 at 7:30 am

    was that George Lopez?

  • 24 seanf on Jun 19, 2008 at 7:45 am

Wow. Is it too early to do a Riff on that movie? I know it’s not even out yet, but there are some riffs that just kind of write themselves. Plus, the Rifftrax poster would be great. Just imagine Bill’s head on that tiny lil’ dog’s body! And Kevin as, I dunno, the Incan Sun God or something. Mike could be the fire hydrant.

  • 25 Scooter on Jun 19, 2008 at 8:35 am

personally, I can’t wait for the 2girls1cup version

  • 26 Amanda on Jun 19, 2008 at 11:03 am

I don’t know which is worse, that someone initially had this idea or that many, many other people willingly signed on to be a part of it.

Sixth Sense dad’s reaction is perfect though. Just the right amount of shock and disbelief that this horror has come into his life. The trailer for that Adam Sandler movie Zamfir: Israeli PanFlutist of Death or whatever it’s called would’ve worked equally well.

  • 27 Tim D on Jun 19, 2008 at 12:06 pm

“many, many other people willingly signed on to be a part of it.”

Hey, Disney has deep pockets and Paul Rodriguez has gotta eat!

  • 28 deldobuss on Jun 19, 2008 at 1:19 pm

Oh, the fear in his eyes. Disney producers thrive off that fear. They would be sunken-eyed zombies without the life-giving fear from stunned parents and mindless children.

  • 29 DoughyGuy on Jun 19, 2008 at 3:10 pm

I showed this to someone at work… I knew it was a bad idea when the trailer first began and she said “Ooooh! I want to see this movie…”

    I couldn’t say a word… The world is doomed… Duct Tape And Garbage Bags… Baked Beans… Shhh… Don’t let them know you know….

  • 30 mathey on Jun 20, 2008 at 11:08 am

    Magnificent!

  • 31 Michael on Jun 20, 2008 at 1:41 pm

Funny, this was the same exact reaction I had when I first saw that trailer.

[...] big, hearty thanks to Conor over at the rifftrax blogĀ for this [...]

  • 33 Tyrant on Jun 21, 2008 at 10:47 am

This may honestly be the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen.

  • 34 Anthony on Jun 21, 2008 at 1:11 pm

The horror makes me want to cry.

  • 35 Brian O. on Jun 25, 2008 at 6:28 am

Or there’s pretty much anything on video from Paris Hilton. Bonus points if it’s her night vision goggle porn.

  • 36 Thom_Serveaux on Jul 7, 2008 at 6:08 pm

This is what I posted on YouTube about a week ago…

“The only thing that would make this even better is if Mike, Kevin, and Bill riff this little deformed cinematic turd when it comes out on DVD. That and they shoot footage of all those responsible at Disney hogtied in the studio when they tear it to bloody sheds for all to see…”

    …and I STILL stand by it…
