Guest Blog Challenge!
I give the blog over now to famed composer Gustav Holst. Gustav, take it away!
Yes, thank you, Mikael! I wanted to offer your several readers a challenge – I bet that I, Gustav Holst, composer of “The Planets” (thank you… thank you…) can make you laugh! Are you ready? You cannot resist, you know? Here we go…

| Has my mirth got the better of you yet? No? Well, try this! |

| You are laughing now, I know it. No? You are not? Perhaps you haven’t seen my “goofy face”, which I used to crack the living hell out of Ralph Vaughan Williams at the premiere of his 7th Symphony… |

| Still nothing? Well, perhaps it will help for you to know that I am English and not German. |
Ah, there we go. All right – that is enough. The chocolate milk issuing from your nose is starting to annoy me.

If Gustav took off his glasses, I’m sure we’d then realize that he’s actually Superman. It’s for the best he doesn’t. We’re not ready for that. With great power comes great responsibility. And he doesn’t even care that that’s not Superman who says that, it’s Spiderman. He’s Gustav em-effing Holst. He does what he wants. And we just need to deal with it. If he wants us to laugh, we better do so.

If he were to compositionally render the delicate tones of quarters falling out of a pocket, then symphonically interpret the chime-like clangs of each represented state clashing into one another in a cacophany of chaos and order, I’d laugh my ***** head off.

Um…I think Memento was bizarre enough to push Mike over the edge.

With names like Christoph Willibald Ritter von Gluck, how can we not laugh?

I had no idea FDR was a composer. And such a funny guy, to boot!

He has the sparkling presence of a Lutheran patent attorney.

He’s much more entertaining when he puts on some greasepaint and smokes a cigar.

Is it just me, or does he bear a small resemblance to Christopher Timothy in that first photo?
