Watching that clip, I have to wonder… why were all the fan boys drooling over how “good” this thing supposedly is if it’s full of Plot Convenience Theater?
Thank you, Rifftrax, from saving me from another bad movie.

Just because a movie’s convenient, doesn’t make it bad. After all, this is a comic book movie we’re talking about. Spidey 1 and 2 have been two of the best true-to-the-source comic book flicks in recent memory.

Except that in the comic Spiderman doesn’t have organic webbing.

I’m with you, wbwolf. The Spiderman flicks were the cheesiest movies since Corman’s Fantastic Four. Or anything else Raimi has ever done. So unabashedly awful.

Goddamn, and I thought I was harsh on movies.

Eureka! Elton John is Doc Ock! I was wondering why he had those extra metal arms. I always thought it was because he was knighted by the queen of England.

If Elton John was Doc Ock then it would be Peter in the dress right?

I’ll bet Doc Ock could still snort Lily Allen under the table…

Nobody wants to read your Doc Ock/Lilly Allen furniture-fetish fanfic!
Wait, it’s a drug reference? Carry on then.

Oh, Doc Ock meeting Aunt May was all a set-up for the recently announced Spiderman 4… it’s a romantic comedy leading up to the scene depicted on the cover.

Frankly, I have never understood Aunt May’s love for Doc Ock or visa versa. I am sure there are plenty of ancient individuals that May can latch on to, mostly in Florida. And I am sure there are at least a few multi armed individuals that Doc Ock can be involved with. Not that there is anything wrong with the relationship that they have, I am just saying that there are other people to be involved with.

Though a somewhat controversial move, Spiderman puts a halt to another gay wedding.

Makes you wonder what else Doc Ock’s broken inhibitor chip was supposed to be inhibiting.

Is he marrying George W. Bush on that comic book cover?

Well the reception would explain why Saturday night’s alright for fighting…..
Seriously, when making comic book movies- put your plot conveniences is narrative yellow text boxes in the corner of the screen and all is forgiven.
