….CASSOULET!
This is a screen shot of a huge banner in Times Square, N.Y. last night that kept finding its way front and center in the TV shots.
It was soon joined by a smaller sign that said “Cassoulet Forever.”
Let’s join together as a country today to congratulate our new leader, a slow-cooked bean stew from southwest France.

Which made for a devastating loss for Borscht.
Borscht in 2012.

Well Borscht made the mistake of picking a can of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle for the VP slot. Sure it energized the base, but it couldn’t sway the independents, who were more concerned about the state of beef Ramen packets…

I’ve always been a proponent of Stew-based leadership. Now let’s see if in these new, open minded times we can also add some real diversity in our new administration.
I propose BACON for the Chief of Staff!

Ironically I made split pea soup while watching the polls come in. Delicious stuff too.

I watched the Futurama episode where Nixon became president of Earth as a insane cyborg…that’d be so cool.
The French can keep their winey stew.

Yes but you have to remember that he’d now come into people’s houses and wreck up the joint.
Cassoulet is just a fancy version of crock pot roast. Don’t let the evil liberal media spin it.
Reply from Ben on November 6, 2008:
What if my house is already pretty messy? Would an insane Nixon come in and straighten it out instead?

I still have the “Beef Bourguignon!!” sign in my window. The neighbors across the street are mocking me with their “CREPES SUZETTES” banner.
Perhaps we can compromise at Haricots Verts.

I’ve got good news! Beef Bourguinon was granted a recount in Montana! There’s still hope!

Don’t worry. Bacon is poised for a comeback in 2010 once America has its fill of a fully Cassoulet government. The American people generally prefer their government divided into at least two or three delicious side dishes.

Oh, I know who did that: a bunch of self-proclaimed “alternative journalists” (i.e., bad entertainers) from Canal +… They’ve been waving signs and banners on U.S. television all week, apparently.
If you so wish, you can see them proudly presenting some of their “jokes” from about three minutes into the video, there:
http://www.canalplus.fr/c-humour/pid2397-c-le-petit-journal.html
It’s in French, and will only stay up for a day, but has the merit of documenting the seemingly impossible: people finding this absolutely hilarious
And then people wonder about the whole France/Jerry Lewis thing…

Don’t worry! this is just a funny challenge for a french TV show called “Le Grand Journal” who was in live and direct from New York. If you saw the banner “Je t’aime Maman” (I love you mom) behind a Tina Fey interview 1 or 2 days earlier, it’s the same…
