Listen to Kacman11!!*

February 24th, 2009 by Mike Nelson · 50 Comments

*(Don’t, by any means listen to the whole thing…)

JawsWebThis remains one of my favorite movies, and even after all these years the creature still looks terrifying and very believable (I’m talking, obviously, about Murray Hamilton.)

Pacman’s long lost son??? The whole video would be less annoying if it was made up of him shouting “WAKKA WAKKA WAKKA WAKKA” whilst running around his room eating mentos. We can dream.
Anyway…Great choice of movie, Mike. Yes indeed.

I think Mike’s let slip about Rifftrax’ next guest-riffer… But will they do One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Next, Raging Bull, or The Godfather?

  • 3 AJ on Feb 24, 2009 at 3:28 pm

I love the image of you getting eaten by a shark, Mike.

  • 4 Lyndsey on Feb 24, 2009 at 3:29 pm

    I’ve never seen Jaws.

  • 5 AJ on Feb 24, 2009 at 3:31 pm

LOL, what is he like, 11 years old? What the hell is he doing watching movies that he’s not old enough to watch? Where the hell are his parents? Someone call social services! NOW!

  • 6 Mike Nelson on Feb 24, 2009 at 3:37 pm

He claims (towards the end… yes, I watched most of it) that “it’s still as terrifying today as it was 37 years ago.”

The first time he saw it, presumably.

Great choice of a film, great cover art. In fact, if you get rid of Sir Jaws himself, you can recycle the photo for a RiffTrax’d version of March of the Penguins. (HINT HINT HINT HINT)

  • 8 AJ on Feb 24, 2009 at 4:20 pm

Well, you got further than me! Well done!

  • 9 randommanthefirst on Feb 24, 2009 at 4:46 pm

    Holy hand gestures, Batman!!

  • 10 randommanthefirst on Feb 24, 2009 at 4:49 pm

He’s even tastier because of all the bacon too!

  • 11 Casey on Feb 24, 2009 at 5:58 pm

I half halfway through it (1/4) before I realized I wasn’t watching a childhood video of Jack White.

  • 12 Laura on Feb 24, 2009 at 6:27 pm

Hey! I watched Jaws when I was five and Child’s Play when I was three!
And please let Billy West be a guest riffer :( .

  • 13 ShutterBun on Feb 24, 2009 at 7:36 pm

Why is it that the Rifftrax poster for this features Kevin and Bill with comically enlarged heads, while Mike’s remains regular* sized?

    *for him

    Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure!

  • 15 Theresa Karasek on Feb 24, 2009 at 8:23 pm

    JAYNE HAT!

  • 16 AJ on Feb 25, 2009 at 2:35 am

I fear that my comment may have been taken the wrong way. I meant, of course, that I love the image on the Rifftrax homepage of Mike getting eaten by a shark. I didn’t actually sit and envision Mike getting eaten by a shark! Just wanted to clear that up. :)

  • 17 Kleenex on Feb 25, 2009 at 4:09 am

It is a great movie. Do yourself a favor and watch it unriffed at least once before seeing the Rifftrax. I’m looking forward to the riff very much but I know the movie by heart.

  • 18 Kleenex on Feb 25, 2009 at 4:11 am

Screw this kid, I need to know what the Sexman thinks of it!

  • 19 Racerâ„¢ on Feb 25, 2009 at 4:17 am

As Weird Al would’ve put it:

“Is it a boy or a girl?”

  • 20 AJ on Feb 25, 2009 at 4:30 am

    It’s the hair, isn’t it?

  • 21 Montagthemagician on Feb 25, 2009 at 5:04 am

I got 4 seconds into him going “on gahh a wah blah blah” or something and had to pause it. I’m not sure I can go any farther but I will try to collect myself and take another stab at it. God be with me.

  • 22 Brit on Feb 25, 2009 at 5:25 am

    You’re all quite beastly.

I like Kacman and he’ll probably be a big film director one day.

  • 23 kipsy on Feb 25, 2009 at 6:11 am

It’s RICHARD Dreyfus? Huh. Kid cleared that up for me.

  • 24 Onil on Feb 25, 2009 at 8:04 am

My favorite part is how STUNNED Kacman11 is at how difficult it was to shoot a scene on a tiny boat.

He will be completely blown away if he ever reviews Waterworld. I only pray he has a medic alert button ready.

  • 25 AJ on Feb 25, 2009 at 9:42 am

He’s stunned about every single thing about the movie isn’t he?

I mean, I skipped most of it, but my general feeling was, “Wow, he really likes this movie!” :)

  • 26 AJ on Feb 25, 2009 at 9:43 am

I second that, it is a great movie and you should see it.

  • 27 k0l0r on Feb 25, 2009 at 10:20 am

funny, I was thinking Jack Black

  • 28 Racerâ„¢ on Feb 25, 2009 at 11:01 am

It’s the hair, yes. But, from looking at “him?!”, I get the feeling that if he ever looks in a mirror, he’ll be as confused about his gender, as I am right now.

  • 29 Edgewriter on Feb 25, 2009 at 11:41 am

Hah! It is a Jayne Hat! My wife knitted me one of those. Er . . . does that give me geek cred or does it just make me look lame?

  • 30 R.A. Roth on Feb 25, 2009 at 11:57 am

Off topic, but very relevant to this site:

Click on the link within the link and read about her love of BACON.

Looks like Mike has a soul mate…that is, if his bacon doubting wife decides to up and run away.

I’ll consider it but I’m not a fan of gruesome violence.

  • 32 jason on Feb 25, 2009 at 1:24 pm

There’s really not much gruesome violence in Jaws- it’s rated ‘PG’. Most of it is character development (tho Spielberg doesn’t shy away from the horror when it is appropriate, there is really only a few brief scenes that could be considered ‘gory’; and not really at all by today’s standards- I’ve seen gorier episodes of cartoons on TV these days)…

  • 33 Remmie Barrow on Feb 25, 2009 at 1:26 pm

It’s not that gruesome of a movie.

  • 34 Remmie Barrow on Feb 25, 2009 at 1:29 pm

The kid does go on…What do you think he was reading out of…Jaws for Dummies.

  • 35 rebisaz on Feb 25, 2009 at 2:28 pm

AJ, that didn’t even occur to me but your disclaimer cracked me up!

  • 36 rebisaz on Feb 25, 2009 at 2:32 pm

Ha! Theresa, I didn’t even notice that until just now! Edgewriter, I’m going with geek cred, though it’s a fine line. :-)

  • 37 AJ on Feb 25, 2009 at 3:39 pm

It didn’t occur to me either, until I read it back and thought “Oh bloody hell, that didn’t sound right!” :)

  • 38 Conor Lastowka on Feb 25, 2009 at 3:46 pm

I’ll put a call into his agent

  • 39 Kim on Feb 25, 2009 at 4:28 pm

Sweet! Jaws, a DVD I actually own!

  • 40 Brooke on Feb 26, 2009 at 1:47 am

I also only made it 4 seconds. No other attempts will be made.

  • 41 Earl Fando on Feb 26, 2009 at 6:39 am

Last Year at Marienbad cries out for a RiffTrax session. Also, Boom, and The Mirror Has Two Faces. If the crew hasn’t done an Elizabeth Taylor or Babs film yet, then they are long overdue.

  • 42 Earl Fando on Feb 26, 2009 at 6:40 am

You’re discounting Robert Shaw’s singing though, aren’t you?

  • 43 Mike Nelson on Feb 26, 2009 at 9:50 am

I know. How the guy ever won 14 Grammys is beyond me.

(Ha! I kid people who have the same names as other people – no matter how common they might be!)

  • 44 Lyndsey on Feb 26, 2009 at 11:44 am

Alright- I’m convinced. Is it a renter or a buyer though?

  • 45 Casey on Feb 26, 2009 at 3:43 pm

You weren’t the only one who made that exclamation… either verbally or mentally.

  • 46 jfe on Feb 27, 2009 at 3:06 pm

Only a few more days for the month o’ bacon. Will you make it, Mr. Nelson?

  • 47 Ian on Feb 27, 2009 at 6:31 pm
