Keep in mind…

April 20th, 2009 by Mike Nelson · 36 Comments

As life gets hectic and all of us feel the sting of financial woes, pressures at work, family issues, etc., it’s important to remember this: that Robin Gibb and Eleanor Roosevelt are actually the same person.

Eleanor Roosevelt was an actual person? HA, I know when someone’s pulling my leg.

  • 2 Kat on Apr 20, 2009 at 1:55 pm

That’s not Elenore Roosevelt. That’s the attorney who represented Pulo in Rome Season 1.

Ha! Eleanor sings a full octave lower than Robin.

How can you mend THIS broken heart?

  • 6 jfe on Apr 20, 2009 at 2:11 pm

This is not just some jive talking, is it?

  • 7 Remmie Barrow on Apr 20, 2009 at 2:19 pm

Are you sure they are the same person…Maybe Robin Gibb is just an exact clone to Ms. Roosevelt.

Oh Mike – you are so right. How could I have forgotten? I heed this wake up call like a freshly-brewed cup of coffee. Thank you, Mike Nelson!

  • 9 Erica on Apr 20, 2009 at 2:31 pm

You know, you should be dancin’.

  • 10 Kim on Apr 20, 2009 at 2:41 pm

Wow Mike, you’re right…how easy it is to forget such important things when times are tough.

And here I was expecting a Steve Buscemi joke. I expect too much of you people, I suppose I also expect too much of Steve Buscemi, but that’s a different topic.

    Rockin’.

  • 13 Barry on Apr 20, 2009 at 4:01 pm

    And that’s her falsetto.

  • 14 Sparkys Girl on Apr 20, 2009 at 4:35 pm

Hmm.. And yet we’ve never seen footage of Ms. Roosevelt bustin’ a move on the dance floor. You’d think she’d let it slip here and there. She must be better than I thought.

If they aren’t wax dummies, what’s the point?

  • 16 Gina on Apr 20, 2009 at 5:48 pm

Robin Gibb is the one on the right, correct?

  • 17 Molly on Apr 20, 2009 at 6:35 pm

The point is they’re both high and/or giving a nazi salute– it’s a special Happy 4-20 post!

  • 18 rebisaz on Apr 20, 2009 at 7:42 pm

Hm. I’m not sure that’s helping. I’ll contemplate it some more.

  • 19 rebisaz on Apr 20, 2009 at 7:48 pm

    Yeah.

  • 20 jfe on Apr 20, 2009 at 8:35 pm

What cha doing in your bed?

  • 21 Tim on Apr 20, 2009 at 8:41 pm

Mike, to illustrate the point, wouldn’t it have been better to include a photo of Eleanor Roosevelt, rather than that photo on the right of Clint Howard in drag?

Just to make sure I have this correct, Robin is the one wearing jewelry in the picture, right?

  • 23 chrismartin on Apr 21, 2009 at 1:40 am

That’s an odd way to celebrate the birth of actor Clint Howard.

  • 24 awfulgoodmovies on Apr 21, 2009 at 5:18 am

Normally I’d be skeptical…….But The Bee-Gee’s once did a show at Castleton State College Where Physics teacher and amateur pilot Nick Miller was doing some pretty amazing stuff…..So maybe Robin got trapped in the past?

  • 25 pjwaldron on Apr 21, 2009 at 5:36 am

Except I’m pretty sure that the one on the left is in fact Miss Jane Hathaway from the Beverly Hillbillies.

  • 26 Casey on Apr 21, 2009 at 8:44 am

That is wonderful Mike… personally though.. I find it more advantageous to be aware of the fact that Ringo Starr is in fact Rob Halford.

  • 27 attaturk on Apr 21, 2009 at 9:29 am

What if Robin Gibb could fly?

  • 28 Erica on Apr 21, 2009 at 10:06 am

Ever since Robin Gibb was mentioned, I have heard the Bee Gees on the radio four times. This is four times out of four separate times being in the car, and changing the station frequently.

Is there a correlation? Maybe the Bee Gees were always there but I was unaware?

Or is Eleanor Roosevelt trying to tell me something?

  • 29 Elizabeth on Apr 21, 2009 at 1:36 pm

Judging by the picture of Mrs. Roosevelt I’m going to assume FDR was faking polio just so he could avoid making sweet love to the misses.

As for Robin Gibb, well, there really isn’t enough Polio to go around for me to avoid sleeping with him so I guess I’ll just have to suck it up and take one for the team.

It looks like David Spade has really let himself go.

  • 31 Brad on Apr 22, 2009 at 9:19 am

    “Th-th-THIS MAN..”
And that is the exact face he makes while he akwardly raised his hand to get the job.

  • 32 DohXs on Apr 26, 2009 at 11:06 am

Faking? Maybe, but I hear FDR could really “get down” on the dance floor.

Hmmmmmm……………One simple word of advice for this dude………..MAKEOVER !!!!

(Though I do admit that he does look a LITTLE better in his photo on the right).
