    Yes please!

  • 2 blablover5 on Jul 15, 2009 at 12:23 pm

    Already got my ticket.

And gave you guys some post love too. http://tinyurl.com/mr7ew3

I hope this is super popular and before you know if you’re having to do it every night for a decade becoming a shallow husk of what you once were.

  • 3 Bill Corbett on Jul 15, 2009 at 12:28 pm

    Thank you kindly!

  • 4 Eliot on Jul 15, 2009 at 12:36 pm

Spectacular! Now I just need to find other MiSTies to meet up with.

  • 5 blablover5 on Jul 15, 2009 at 12:43 pm

I was serious about the wedding dress painting as well.

It could fit in nicely with the makeover posts. Maybe something a little lacey and satin.

  • 6 TeeJay on Jul 15, 2009 at 12:53 pm

This announcement totally brightened my day!

I’ve already bought my ticket and I’m telling my friends!

Looking forward to the day when you guys do a live show from Chicago or better yet, the north suburbs of Chicago. Pleeeeeezeee? :-)

  • 7 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 15, 2009 at 2:55 pm

I’m gonna buy my ticket as soon as I secure child care. My theater is kinda remote. I’m skeert I’m gonna be there all by my lonesome. No matter. I’ll laugh enough to fill it!

  • 8 Poolio on Jul 15, 2009 at 3:18 pm

This makes me wish I was still in Nashville. You guys will love the Belcourt, such a great theater and a great bunch of people. Now, I need to see if it’s gonna be broadcast where I can actually see it!

  • 9 Sensei_Rebel on Jul 15, 2009 at 3:47 pm

This seems like a good reason to get out of the house for once in 9 years.

  • 10 Splunge on Jul 15, 2009 at 4:08 pm

Too bad there isn’t a theatre playing this in my big empty home state of Wyoming.

  • 11 taters on Jul 15, 2009 at 4:29 pm

i’m gonna go have a cry in the corner, i’m flying out to florida from the uk on the 25th theres even a theatre showing it 6 miles from where i’m staying. *cries*

  • 12 Jeff on Jul 15, 2009 at 7:25 pm

I’m a Canadian and doesn’t sound like I’m going to get to see this. Come on guys, air it up in Canada too!

  • 13 Ben on Jul 16, 2009 at 4:27 am

You guys must be like Santa Claus to be able to appear live in 433 theaters, all on the same day, and perform/watch Plan Nine from Outer Space that many times. Whew.

  • 14 Wook on Jul 16, 2009 at 4:59 am

Hmm. 8/20 is the new moon. The stars are right. Watch the skies.

  • 15 Casey on Jul 16, 2009 at 5:34 am

Alrighty, I’m praying for you guys… Seems kind of like the fellow who couldn’t get his model rocket set to work deciding to make plans to land on the moon.

  • 16 BDiamond on Jul 16, 2009 at 10:05 am

Well, I’m not happy. The closest theater to the Quad Cities that’s offering this is 50 miles away in Iowa City. Phooey.

(Too far for my car, too far for a weekday night.)

  • 17 Queen Bee on Jul 16, 2009 at 10:24 am

Well, now you’ve done it. Now you’ve provided a reason for us to… gather.

  • 18 Queen Bee on Jul 16, 2009 at 10:25 am

If the NPS finds some beaten and bloodied flying reindeer carcasses on the outskirts of Minneapolis, we’ll know the reason.

  • 19 Joe on Jul 16, 2009 at 11:56 am

Woohoo! Bought tickets for all of us here! Can’t wait. :)

  • 20 Aredubya on Jul 16, 2009 at 12:17 pm

Fantastic news, Riffellas! Tickets shall be purchased, and soon.

  • 21 Wook on Jul 16, 2009 at 12:49 pm

It’s showing at the local Mecca Mall Googleplex. I’m not sure if this is:

    A) a neat little bit of subversion that I should support wholeheartedly

    B) an example of the irony that the kids seem to like so much

    C) neither, or

    D) bad

  • 22 chrismartindeed on Jul 16, 2009 at 1:27 pm

To prove that it’s a live performance, I must insist they display their vital signs at the bottom of the theater screen every three minutes.

  • 23 Beth on Jul 16, 2009 at 1:32 pm

    Agreed! Canada loves you too!

  • 24 Kyle S on Jul 16, 2009 at 4:27 pm

This is, of course, totally and completely freaking awesome.

Bought tickets for myself and two friends. Can’t wait!

  • 25 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 16, 2009 at 8:11 pm

If one of them is barefoot or has his eyes closed you’ll know it’s really a dead performance!

  • 26 Dan Noutko-Kennedy on Jul 17, 2009 at 8:16 am

Wow! Not lining up a.s.a.p. to see the one and only Dudley Manlove beamed right into your local movie house. That would be stupid! stupid! stupid!

  • 27 BDiamond on Jul 17, 2009 at 9:59 am

Yay! It looks like Showcase Cinemas (National Amusements) is going to carry this event. The local Showcase is only a few miles away. Woo hoo!!

  • 28 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 17, 2009 at 12:29 pm

Seriously, if this fails then God officially hates them.

  • 29 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 17, 2009 at 12:31 pm

Well Dudley is gonna be over there, and the movie house is gonna be over there, so you know I’m gonna be over there!

  • 30 Casey on Jul 17, 2009 at 7:17 pm

Perish the thought. Not even He could sink this ship.

  • 31 Olcas on Jul 18, 2009 at 2:24 pm

Accursed USA. Always getting the good stuff!!

Us Irish wanna watch too! *whines*

  • 32 Maureen on Jul 18, 2009 at 5:45 pm

You know those police stings where they invite all the fugitives to a football game and arrest them when they show up? Are we being lured out of our basements for some kind of purge?

  • 33 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 18, 2009 at 7:01 pm

If yer goin you better hide all those bit torrents!

  • 34 bullwinkle on Jul 20, 2009 at 2:47 pm

The RiffTrax Blog — We don’t make fun of blogs, we just don’t update them!

  • 35 Earl Fando on Jul 20, 2009 at 6:19 pm

This explains the dearth of blog posts lately. You guys have been busy wiring cinemas for live sound. Excellent… except my nearest opportunity is 94 miles away (those are American miles, not Canadian ones!) and on a weeknight.

    Deep, deep, hurting.

Any chance more theaters will be added or any advice on blackmailing my local theater into carrying it?

  • 36 Earl Fando on Jul 20, 2009 at 6:22 pm

He could, but I’m certain He enjoys the boys work. After all, He created them!

OK – Maybe, He’s not happy with some of the looser, bluer bits.

What will this live-thingamajig be rated anyway? Will there be a three second delay for Corbett? (I’m kidding, Bill… I kid!)

  • 37 BDiamond on Jul 20, 2009 at 7:58 pm

Uh, guys…the San Diego Comic-Con is this coming weekend. They’re obviously ****ing busy preparing for it.

  • 38 Dale on Jul 20, 2009 at 8:56 pm

We’re so there in Portland, Oregon. Its playing at three theaters here. Already fandangoed our tickets. Can’t wait.

  • 39 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 21, 2009 at 5:34 am

Get yerself a Twitter Account or just follow the links and read along.

  • 40 Chinese Porkman on Jul 21, 2009 at 7:08 am

    I’m unna go do Levytown…

    Count me in.

  • 41 Erica on Jul 21, 2009 at 8:08 am

Do I have to? I prefer to keep my foot stuck firmly in the twentieth century.

  • 42 Erica on Jul 21, 2009 at 8:10 am

Here’s the situation. Erica got paid. Erica spent her money (technically it was spent before it hit the bank account, if you know what I’m sayin’). Then Erica checked the blog. So I have to hope there are tickets left when I get paid again. Damn biweekly paychecks. Curse you Corporate America, curse yoouuuuuuu!

  • 43 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 21, 2009 at 8:45 am

Well I love the guys just as much as the next fan I assure you. I hope this venture is wildly sucessful cause I’d love to see lots more! But completely sold out is hard to imagine. Would be awesome though wouldn’t it? Well awesome AFTER I buy my ticket!

  • 44 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 21, 2009 at 8:47 am

Nah you don’t strictly “have to”. But pain will continue to hurt if you don’t.

  • 45 Erica on Jul 21, 2009 at 9:17 am

    I’m in no pain :)

  • 46 Erica on Jul 21, 2009 at 9:18 am

That’s what happened to me when Cinematic Titanic came here. Sold the hell out!

  • 47 TVsCorkey on Jul 21, 2009 at 12:37 pm

For the first time in my life I’m leaving North America on vacation, and you guys schedule this to happen! How about a London showing?

  • 48 Erik at RiffTrax on Jul 21, 2009 at 5:18 pm

Yeah, seriously. What could the guys possibly be doing right now that they’re too busy to update the blog??? I mean, besides Comic-Con and writing, of course.

  • 49 Erica on Jul 21, 2009 at 8:27 pm

Hey now, I was complaining about technology, not the lack of posts.

  • 50 Erica on Jul 21, 2009 at 8:30 pm

PS – the pain is now hurting. Damn pain.

But twitter confuses me and makes me feel like I’m stupid.

And also I’m too lazy, at least when it comes to my entetainment. To quote Keith Olbermann, I couldn’t figure twitter out, so I gave up.

I’ll I have to do here is hit “reload” and that I can handle. Mostly.

  • 51 Erica on Jul 21, 2009 at 8:34 pm

After I buy my ticket, you mean ;)

PS part two – I have a horrible toothache and I swear, I only had a little bit of whiskey to soothe the sharp shooting nerve pain. I assume tooth and nerve pain is what the Deep Hurting Concept was born of. But I should never have blogged or typed on whiskey. I’ll be too embarrassed to show my “face” here for a few days (assuming I remember), so carry on without me…

  • 52 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 22, 2009 at 6:14 am

Oh I have no doubt they would sell the heck outa one theater at a time. But 433 theaters all sold out on the same night? Would be flippin’ cool but I bet even Harry Potter didn’t sell out every single theater!

  • 53 Houndstooth Mind on Jul 22, 2009 at 7:25 am

    my nuts?

  • 54 Erica on Jul 22, 2009 at 8:44 am

Yes but I can’t get to the other 431 theaters if the two near me are sold out, is the problem. :D

  • 55 bullwinkle on Jul 22, 2009 at 2:53 pm

This Bullwinkle guy is just like Hitler!

  • 56 Erica on Jul 22, 2009 at 3:29 pm

I assume you mean wax Hitler?

  • 57 taters on Jul 22, 2009 at 3:43 pm

lol thats more painful than my ‘going to america the week after’
    my condolences

  • 58 Triangle O. Daver on Jul 22, 2009 at 4:39 pm

This may have been answered elsewhere, but is this going to be starting immediately, or… I work until 7:00 PM CST usually, so I may not get to the theater until 7:15-ish, 7:20-ish.
I’m only gonna miss the previews, right?

  • 59 bullwinkle on Jul 22, 2009 at 4:58 pm

I prefer to think I’m more animated than that, Erica.

  • 60 Erica on Jul 22, 2009 at 7:31 pm

I’m just saying if we’re going to compare you to Hitler (and we shouldn’t, by the way), it should be the laughable and uncomfortable looking one, not the real and nightmarish one.

Now I’m trying to think of the evil guy on the Bullwinkle show and his name is escaping me. Damn. I’ll have to go to the imdb.

  • 61 bullwinkle on Jul 23, 2009 at 7:34 am

Boris of course! Unless you were thinking of Snidely Whiplash.

  • 62 Erica on Jul 23, 2009 at 11:05 am

Oh that’s right! I think I was thinking of Fearless Leader!

  • 63 Mark Z on Jul 31, 2009 at 4:11 pm

Got my tickets and really looking foward to a wonderful evening of riff magic. My daughter Allie and I love you guys!!!!

  • 64 TeeJay on Aug 3, 2009 at 10:46 am

I’ve even recruited my mom to come see the show too! I’ve been trying to get here “initiated” into the RiffTrax following for months now. Maybe this will provide the extra push?

Maybe if you guys give her a shout out, that will impress her? :-)

  • 65 TeeJay on Aug 3, 2009 at 10:47 am

er…that “here” should be “her” (sorry – it’s the proofreader in me)

Also I’m re-thinking that “shout out” idea – it might scare her…lol

  • 66 Scott Lyons on Aug 6, 2009 at 6:22 am

I’m thirding the request for a broadcast in Canada. They already do something similar with other live events, so the ability is there. I know enough MST fans around here to fill several theatres.

I’m fourthing a request for Canada. I know at least 12 people who would go to/be in Toronto to see this, there would be no problem filling a theatre here, and we have AMC theatres, too!

  • 76 Ian Jenner on Jul 17, 2010 at 2:54 pm

I’ve been a big fan of Rifftrax for awhile now and I too would love to see it come to Canada as well. Like Nicholas said above me, there’s no reason that you can’t send them to our AMC theatres as well. Unless you’re all just biased against Theatres, instead of theaters.

  • 77 Neomi Covert on Oct 27, 2010 at 8:34 am

Interesting. Been trying to learn a new language for a while now so this is highly relevant! Thank you.
