We’ll be saying a lot more about this over the next days and weeks. But for the moment, let the pure awesomeness speak for itself:
LIVE in 433 theaters across the U.S.A.
More info HERE from our producing partners at Fathom Events.
And Conor has even more 411 HERE on the Rifftrax Forum.
Stay tuned!

Already got my ticket.
And gave you guys some post love too. http://tinyurl.com/mr7ew3
I hope this is super popular and before you know if you’re having to do it every night for a decade becoming a shallow husk of what you once were.

I was serious about the wedding dress painting as well.
It could fit in nicely with the makeover posts. Maybe something a little lacey and satin.

This announcement totally brightened my day!
I’ve already bought my ticket and I’m telling my friends!
Looking forward to the day when you guys do a live show from Chicago or better yet, the north suburbs of Chicago. Pleeeeeezeee?

This makes me wish I was still in Nashville. You guys will love the Belcourt, such a great theater and a great bunch of people. Now, I need to see if it’s gonna be broadcast where I can actually see it!

You guys must be like Santa Claus to be able to appear live in 433 theaters, all on the same day, and perform/watch Plan Nine from Outer Space that many times. Whew.

OK - Maybe, He’s not happy with some of the looser, bluer bits.
What will this live-thingamajig be rated anyway? Will there be a three second delay for Corbett? (I’m kidding, Bill… I kid!)
14 BDiamond on Jul 16, 2009 at 10:05 am
Well, I’m not happy. The closest theater to the Quad Cities that’s offering this is 50 miles away in Iowa City. Phooey.
(Too far for my car, too far for a weekday night.)

Yay! It looks like Showcase Cinemas (National Amusements) is going to carry this event. The local Showcase is only a few miles away. Woo hoo!!

It’s showing at the local Mecca Mall Googleplex. I’m not sure if this is:
A) a neat little bit of subversion that I should support wholeheartedly
B) an example of the irony that the kids seem to like so much
C) neither, or
D) bad

To prove that it’s a live performance, I must insist they display their vital signs at the bottom of the theater screen every three minutes.

Reply from Houndstooth Mind on July 21, 2009:
Nah you don’t strictly “have to”. But pain will continue to hurt if you don’t.
Reply from Erica on July 21, 2009:
I’m in no pain
Reply from Erik at RiffTrax on July 21, 2009:
Yeah, seriously. What could the guys possibly be doing right now that they’re too busy to update the blog??? I mean, besides Comic-Con and writing, of course.
Reply from Erica on July 21, 2009:
Hey now, I was complaining about technology, not the lack of posts.
Reply from Erica on July 21, 2009:
PS - the pain is now hurting. Damn pain.
But twitter confuses me and makes me feel like I’m stupid.
And also I’m too lazy, at least when it comes to my entetainment. To quote Keith Olbermann, I couldn’t figure twitter out, so I gave up.
I’ll I have to do here is hit “reload” and that I can handle. Mostly.
Reply from bullwinkle on July 22, 2009:

Reply from bullwinkle on July 22, 2009:
I prefer to think I’m more animated than that, Erica.
Reply from Erica on July 22, 2009:
I’m just saying if we’re going to compare you to Hitler (and we shouldn’t, by the way), it should be the laughable and uncomfortable looking one, not the real and nightmarish one.
Now I’m trying to think of the evil guy on the Bullwinkle show and his name is escaping me. Damn. I’ll have to go to the imdb.
Reply from bullwinkle on July 23, 2009:
Boris of course! Unless you were thinking of Snidely Whiplash.

This explains the dearth of blog posts lately. You guys have been busy wiring cinemas for live sound. Excellent… except my nearest opportunity is 94 miles away (those are American miles, not Canadian ones!) and on a weeknight.
Deep, deep, hurting.
Any chance more theaters will be added or any advice on blackmailing my local theater into carrying it?

Here’s the situation. Erica got paid. Erica spent her money (technically it was spent before it hit the bank account, if you know what I’m sayin’). Then Erica checked the blog. So I have to hope there are tickets left when I get paid again. Damn biweekly paychecks. Curse you Corporate America, curse yoouuuuuuu!

Well I love the guys just as much as the next fan I assure you. I hope this venture is wildly sucessful cause I’d love to see lots more! But completely sold out is hard to imagine. Would be awesome though wouldn’t it? Well awesome AFTER I buy my ticket!
Reply from Erica on July 21, 2009:
After I buy my ticket, you mean
PS part two - I have a horrible toothache and I swear, I only had a little bit of whiskey to soothe the sharp shooting nerve pain. I assume tooth and nerve pain is what the Deep Hurting Concept was born of. But I should never have blogged or typed on whiskey. I’ll be too embarrassed to show my “face” here for a few days (assuming I remember), so carry on without me…

That’s what happened to me when Cinematic Titanic came here. Sold the hell out!
[Reply to this]
Reply from Houndstooth Mind on July 22, 2009:
Oh I have no doubt they would sell the heck outa one theater at a time. But 433 theaters all sold out on the same night? Would be flippin’ cool but I bet even Harry Potter didn’t sell out every single theater!
Reply from Erica on July 22, 2009:
Yes but I can’t get to the other 431 theaters if the two near me are sold out, is the problem.

This may have been answered elsewhere, but is this going to be starting immediately, or… I work until 7:00 PM CST usually, so I may not get to the theater until 7:15-ish, 7:20-ish.
I’m only gonna miss the previews, right?

Maybe if you guys give her a shout out, that will impress her?

I’m thirding the request for a broadcast in Canada. They already do something similar with other live events, so the ability is there. I know enough MST fans around here to fill several theatres.
